Buying and selling

A mortgage is a contract by which the lending party, usually a bank, transfers a specified amount of money in favor of the borrower for the latter to enjoy for a specified time against payment to the former of a consideration represented by interest.
In the context of real estate purchase transactions normally the granting of a loan by a lending institution takes place against the granting of a mortgage guarantee on real estate. Depending on the purpose for which it is granted, the duration, and the type and amount of collateral by which it is supported, the loan contract takes on some peculiar features and is regulated differently: it can be land, mortgage, liquidity, and purpose.
